empowering authors and reading into the future

Tell us of Your Experience

I Publish Press periodically collects and publishes anthologies of people's experiences relating to historic and current events.

When economic difficulties arise, programs for literacy and education often go underfunded. Given the current downturn in the world economy, I Publish Press will therefore be donating all proceeds from the sales of anthologies to literacy charities in the countries where the books are sold.

If you wish, you may include a bio - a short paragraph (of about 50 words or fewer) about you, promoting your blog, latest project, etc.

All information we collect is governed by our privacy policy.

Current Anthology: The Life of a Reader

For this anthology, we'd like to hear about your experiences with books or of your life as a reader. Did a specific book drastically influence your life? Did you have a humorous or inspirational encounter with someone in which a book or books played a central role? Do you have childhood memories of books or reading that you wish to share? Do you have any quirky habits when it comes to reading? Do you hold a certain philosophy or theory about reading? The stories we're looking for are as varied as readers themselves...

Current Anthology: How History Has Touched You

For this anthology, we'd like to hear about how a significant historical event has intersected with your personal life story. We've all heard the question "Where were you when Kennedy was shot?" or "What were you doing when the space shuttle Challenger accident happened?." We'd like you to take it one step further. How have you been affected by historical events that you have been alive to witness or experience? Did you take in a dog rescued from New Orleans during Katrina? Did you travel to Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall? Did it change the way you thought about race when you saw the Rodney King tape on TV? Did you meet your future spouse at Live Aid? Did a stranger help you on 9/11 when your plane was diverted to Newfoundland? The event can be something you yourself lived through or something you witnessed in the news, the effect can be big or small, something that made an emotional impact or something that completely changed the course of your life.
