What kind of books we will publish.

We are currently interested in receiving submissions for any work of fiction written in English with a length of 60,000-130,000 words (including novels, short story collections, and long narrative poems). Originality, creativity, readiness for publication, literary merit, and quality of writing are all factors in our decision to publish a book.

We are only interested in publishing books that require a minimum of editorial revision, so ensure that your manuscript conforms to editorial standards including the use of proper grammar, continuity, spelling, punctuation, and accuracy of statements of fact. If you have published previously, and your book (for which you retain the rights) is currently out of print, we are interested in hearing from you as well.

What kind of books we won't publish.

We are not interested in any work containing illegal, unlawful, or highly objectionable material including, but not limited to, pornography, gross obscenity, or hate speech, will not be considered for publication. The author must guarantee that his or her submission comprises original content with neither plagiarized material nor any material that violates existing copyright.

We are not interested in books that need extensive editing. If it's full of errors, inconsistencies, or absurdities, we won't be able to publish your book. Self-edit or hire an editor before you submit your manuscript.

Our submission procedures.

All submissions must include a cover page listing:

• the author's name
• mailing address
• e-mail address
• phone number
• book title
• word length
• a short synopsis of the book

Query letters are not necessary.

Electronic Submissions:

Electronic submissions are strongly preferred. Send your manuscript by using the submission form below.

Standard manuscript format - MS Word (.doc), text (.txt), rich text (.rtf), or PDF (.pdf) document, double-spaced, 1 1/2" margins on all four sides of the page, 12-point (or greater) serif font with a header on each page that includes the manuscript title and page number only. You may choose to compress your file (.zip) to reduce the size. Send only a single file. All materials for your submission must be included therein.

Please use your first initial, last name and the day/month of your submission as the file name of your upload file (e.g. jsmith-1506.pdf or swong-2308.zip).

Send the manuscript as a single file (do not break it into separate chapter files). The form only accepts a single file so any synopsis and contact info needs to be in the file with your manuscript.

• do not format text boxes or sidebars into the manuscript
• do not use tabs to indent paragraphs; use your program's formatting tool
• make sure the font you're using is a standard serif font

All hard copy submissions should be accompanied by a stamped return envelope. Submissions from outside Canada should be accompanied by sufficient International Reply Coupons. Your submitted manuscript will not be returned.
